Still, it is often considered a closed world only available to scientists. Dr. Gábor Lente, the head of the Institute of Chemistry at the University of Pécs, and the speaker of the Alumni Hungary Webinar series in September believes that chemistry should be brought closer to the non-professional audience too. We interviewed him about his experience as a chemist and about his current research.

A new online platform has been launched with over 5.000 members selected from the Semmelweis Alumni Network. The aim is to bring the community closer and to share programs, career opportunities and social awareness. After the test launch, the entire Semmelweis alumni community, tens of thousands of people from over 70 countries around the world, will be able to use the platform.

Széchenyi István University's students develop communication module for satellites

When the SZE-SAT team of Széchenyi István University was founded, it set itself the goal of putting a satellite of its own design into the sky. The students have reached an important stage in this process, as they have completed and tested the module that will soon be able to broadcast the name of the institution and Győr to the countries of the world, announcing that Széchenyi István University has entered space. In December, the satellite of the Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BME) will carry the Győr-developed communication panel into the cosmos.

Stand out of the crowd – winning startup ideas from medical students

At the latest event of Semmelweis University’s Science and Business Salon, four winning teams from the Hungarian Startup University (HSUP) talent management programme presented their most innovative ideas from Semmelweis, who will develop these concepts further with the help of their mentors. The winning projects include a smart medicine dispenser, an educational card game, an educational platform for university students and a dance training video for wheelchair users.
